How to link to a form

There are multiple ways to link to a form. This guide shows you how to do it from an eMarketeer Email or a Web page component.

Links can be added in text, images or link elements (such as link buttons). To add a link to a button you configure it like this:

Click the browse button next to the url field.

Click link to eMarketeer form.

In this last step we have a few more options to choose from. Below follows a description so that you can choose the best fit for your use case.

Choose campaign:
This allows you to link to a form outside  your current campaign. Leave this option as is to choose a form from within the same campaign that you are currently working with.

Choose form:
Choose the form you want your button to link to.

Choose identification:
This allows you to create either an anonymous link or a personal link to the form. The difference between these links is that the anonymous link will be the same no matter which contact receives the email while the personal link will be unique for each recipient.

This matters because the unique links will be able to identify the respondent of the form when the form is opened and will thus be able to prefill the form with contact data that we already know about the respondent.

Some features such as “Allow only one answer per visitor” (found in the form publish settings) works best if the link is personal.

Don’t forget to “Select -> Apply -> Save”.

Note: A benefit of using the method described in this guide is that it will create a link to the form that is relative to the campaign, which means that if you copy the campaign, the new copy will still link internally to its own campaign and you will not have to manually redo/update the link url.
